Biography

Hailing from New Jersey, hard rock guitarist and award winning film/video game composer John Kiernan grips audiences globally with heart wrenching compositions, unbridled guitar virtuosity and a mastery in an array of genres. His fans describe his work at the sit-down session of guitar virtuosos Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen and Andy James with composer Hans Zimmer.  He has had the privilege to be taught by guitarists Daniele Gottardo, Emil Werstler, Graham “Pin” Pinney of SikTh, and Makasuni Okubo and has studied under the composer Stuart Glazer during his time at  Florida Atlantic University.

John’s first rock instrumental album “Of Oceans” in 2013 showcased his unique blend of memorable melodies with dynamic, vigorous compositions.  Since then, he continues to release instrumental records and covers of popular professional wrestler’s theme songs such as Shinsuke Nakamura’s “The Rising Sun” and AJ Styles’ “Phenomenal”.  John was also part of the metal instrumental band Etherius during their first record, “Thread Of Life”.  He has composed original music for short films, video games and feature films and has recieved awards at Shriekfest, ZeddFest and New Jersey Film Festival for “Best Original Score”.  He also represented Ernie Ball and Gravity Guitar Picks at his performance at The NAMM Show  and performed for Keipro Guitars in Shanghai, China at MusikMesse.
